1892, Homestead, Pennsylvania, USA — Anarchist Alexander Berkmann attempts to assassinate steel factory owner Henry Frick during the Homestead strike in 1892. The Homestead strike, which was one of the first and most bloodiest industrial strikes during the 1890’s, was sparked by Henry Frick’s decision to cut wages for union workers.
